PALMAS WORKSHOPS WITH ANA MONTES

Flamenco palmas.... mysterious, exciting, and really fun to do!
I'll be teaching how to get a great sound out of your hands, which are considered an instrument in Flamenco. We'll be working a little bit in 4/4 compás (the beat, the rhythm), but mostly in 12's (12-beat measures)!!!
Lots of patterns, how to keep the beats even, countertime.

Palmas is one of Ana's unique specialties, so you are learning from the best!!

HISTORY AND EXPLANATION OF FLAMENCO WORKSHOPS

Taught by Ana Montes at her studio.

2-1/4 hrs. of listening to flamenco with an overview of its history, different aspects and explanation of the different "palos" or forms that are sung, played and danced. Lots of handouts and a double CD of music available to buy.

This workshop is for everyone. You don't have to be a dancer or musician. Anyone interested in or curious about flamenco is welcome, and bring your questions!
